Hi! I’m Amie.

I've always been a doodler. In school it was shapes in the margins of my notes. Later it turned into little characters showing up during phone calls, the kind of drawing that has nothing to do with what you're actually supposed to be doing, but somehow helps you focus anyway. Cheeky Doodles grew out of that habit, and the shift to digital art is what gave me the confidence to draw more freely and develop my voice.

The characters usually come before anything else, and once I have those, they all need names. Cordelia. Sophronia. Tallulah. Lettie. Prudence. I don't hear names like Sophronia every day, and it makes me want to sit with her a while and figure out her story.

Naming the card comes next, and it matters to me just as much as naming the character. A card titled "Cordelia says Hi" or "Lettie gets it" isn't just a title. It's me handing my message to the character, who hands it off to whoever picks the card off the shelf, and from them to whoever opens the envelope. I have three sisters, and I think that's part of why this matters so much to me. Sisters and close friends carry so much back and forth. Encouragement one week, an apology the next, a joke that only makes sense to the two of you. I want a card on hand for whatever that week actually calls for.

Every card is printed here in the US, blank inside, and tucked into a white envelope, with plenty of room left for the words only you can say.

I make these because I want them to bring a little joy to whoever opens the envelope. The person who picked it out, and especially the person who finds it in their mailbox.
